Committed to the community and beyond
Welcome to Coventry West Indian Wanderers CC
In 1962 this club was formed and registered by 'Father Berry', who was a minister of the Church of England. They practiced at the War Memorial Park in Coventry and at the time were called The Nomads.
In 1964 they registered in the park league and their name changed to West Indian Wanderers.
They had the most talented batting and bowling line up ever assembled in those lower divisions, they were Birmingham league and County standard. The progress of the club during its infancy was hampered by a lack of funding and no club mark which prohibited the league promotions that were apparent. In fact their home ground pitch was condemned in 1969 when they tried to join a higher league.
Now 30 years on we are still here. We have based ourselves at Copsewood sports ground and have also taken on the name in our title.
Our aims and goals are to continue to better the club for the future generations too come and give the support to ever growing community.

Chairman Message
"Coventry Copsewood West Indian Wanderers Cricket Club (C.C.W.I.W.CC) has a long and successful history, producing players who have represented Warwickshire and the West Indies. However, as much as we embrace our successful past, we now need to look to the future. Change is a difficult transition but to take this club forward we need to encourage change, work closely with
the local community. develop and promote Youth and Women's cricket. The knock on effect will develop a new
generation of player with the ability to represent this club at the highest level. This is my dream! If we unite as one, we can achieve this dream together".
